The College of Accountancy , Business Administration and Computer Studies through its Business Administration area held a three-day exhibit dubbed as TRADEX 2009 at SM San Lazaro on August 14-16, 2009.
The said affair showcased the entrepreneurial projects of the fourth year business management and marketing students (mostly food) in an array of booths displayed at the food lobby of said mall.
About 20 participating groups proudly displayed their products and applied selling strategies against other existing and well-established fastfood and restaurant businesses located in the lobby.
Grossing P18,170.00 as of 6pm cut-off during the last day was the YUMMY DONUTS group which offered a delectable selection of sweet but healthy donuts which were seen to be very competitive with its taste, look, and price. The group bagged the Best Seller Award during the Closing Program. Following next was PIZZAWICH, sandwiches flavored with pizza toppings which grossed P10,282.00 while KATRINA’S OATMEAL CUPCAKES sold P8,340.00 so close to the fourth Best Seller PIZZA-WRAP, rolled pizza which hit P8,284.00

The Opening Ceremony was attended by the Fr. Anthony A. Morillo, OAR President together with Fr. Leonardo P. Pauligue, OAR (VP-Administration), Fr. Renie C. Villalino, OAR (Campus Minister who officiated the blessing of the exhibit) and Fr. Leander B. Barrot (VP-Academics), who thanked Dr. Lolita A. De Guzman (CABACS Dean) for spearheading the project that gave students “hands-on” business exposure. Fr. Barrot also thanked the students for participating in this trade expo which is a testimony of a learning tradition that is always participative, integral and transformative.
Also present during the Opening Ceremony were lay administrators, organizers and guests in the persons of Dr. Rod Ponce, Dr. Winston Sirug, Mrs. Rachelle Franco, Mr. Philip Cheng, Mr. Albert Danan, and representatives from sponsors such as St. Augustine Publishing, Pizza Hut, SM San Lazaro, and Picture City .
Speaking before the enterprising participants as guest speaker, former SM San Lazaro Special Projects Manager and SSC-R alumnus Mr. Navera thanked San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila for continuing this partnership. According to him, SSC-R has been enthusiastic in sustaining this project with great improvements. Listening to the partner’s advice has earned Tradex its re.tion as a business venture for young entrepreneurs and therefore elevating SSC-R’s image as a highly competitive business school.
Providing entertainment during the exhibit were the Recoletos Dance Troupe, Sebastinian Arts Society and the Sebastinian Theater Arts Group. Also present (and drawing a huge crowd during the last day of exhibit) were the STAGS varsity players (fresh from their straight and sweeping 9-0 victory in the first round of the NCAA) who were introduced and interviewed to wow the crowd and entertain autograph-signing after the program.
